LUCC Meeting MinutesMay 6, 2010 Treasures Report – Jody Ogle· Current account balance as of 4/31/10 - $4671.98· Dues – Utilities pay $100 per year & Contractors pay $60 per year.· We still have $1500 in advertising to still come out of the account. Publicity & Education – Ted Jordon· Instead of spending money on Advertising the Officers met on May 3 & discussed hosting a Locator Training. Ted was going to contact Staking University to get an estimate. Tammy was going to look into using one of the Conference rooms at EWEB.o The group agreed to spend $2,000 - $4,000 on this training.o Ted was given an estimate from Staking University of $1700 to travel expenses for a 1 day training.o Ted will look into getting a block of rooms at a special rate for those who have to travel a long distance to attend.o Tammy reserved the Training Center at EWEB for Feb. 17, 2011.o Tammy & Ted are hoping that the only cost to participates would be for the catered lunch. Old Business· Tammy was approved to attend the OUNC meeting in Bend May 21st. · The committee will pay for 1 nights lodging & a meal. New Business· There will not be a meeting in July.· EPUD has been having some issues with Stake Center & NW Natural.o The rep from Stake Center is going to work with EPUD to resolve their issues.o Carmen with NW Natural is going to look into the issues that EPUD has been having & call EPUD back. Program – Steve Parrott with LTD – Latest on EmX Project· The EmX Project plan goes over a 25 year period.· The Gateway extension is the biggest part.o The EmX will serve Pioneer Parkway to International Way to Riverbend, down Gateway, connecting to Franklin.· The budget for the Project is $32.6 million Federal, $5.4 million Connect Oregon, $2.8 million LTD for a total of $40.8 million.· The GPS system on the EmX helps with the responding time since the EmX runs on a single lane road.· You can purchase EmX tickets at the EmX stations. The machines do not give change· LTD is looking into a Guidance System that will help control the EmX run smoother.o This system can prioritize requests like multiple vehicles in the EmX lane, Emergency vehicles, etc…..o Currently their working on how to deal with Pedestrian crossings.o This Guidance system follows a magnetic track on the road. The magnets in the road will not affect locates.o With this Guidance System the EmX will be able to pull closer to the loading/unloading platform which will help reduce the risk of injuries.o Late this summer a Test Production EmX, with this Guidance system, will be running on Franklin. It will run till early next year. They will use the data gathered from this test to try & obtain more funding. Next meeting May 3, 2010
