Treasurer's Report: Damon Joyner (City of Eugene Public Works) handed out Treasurer's Report. The combined balance as of 3/31/07 was $4,339.02. Only one check was written to Peak-Internet. Publicity & Education: Brian Siria (City of Eugene Public Works) let everyone know there was lots of participation @ the Eugene Home Show. He stated it was very successful. The magnets were a big hit. They had 250 and they were gone in the first 2 days. Next year, we will need to remember to order more from the OUNC. Damages: Eugene Blair (City of Eugene Public Works) reviewed the damage reports that he handed out. She may or may not make the next meeting on May 3rd. A goodbye was said to George Staples (this is his last meeting - he announced long ago he was retiring) and a gift certificate was given to him for his years of good service with LUCC. Everyone wished him well. Ted Jordan (SUB) said there is currently a company out there looking at corrosion on the gas lines and wanted us to be aware. Web Page: Joseph Chavez (Comcast) thanked everyone for their patience as changes are being made to the current web-site. He just got the memberlist updated and you should now be able to view this online. Please let him know if your name is not on there or is incorrect. The current site has really changed over the years and our web host is Peak Internet. They are willing to re-write our whole site, but will not support what we currently have. joseph is in the process of consulting with colleagues that deal with web stuff at Comcast, as well as, possibly getting a different host that is more economical. more to come on this. . Old Business: It was asked where we were @ with the 811 # for locates. Gary Hyatt had mentioned that this should be up and running by April?? Not sure. Tammy will check in with Gary. Brian Siria (City of Eugene Public Works) said the number we have always called will remain the same...more to come. New Business: Doug Caven made an announcement about a "Safety Fest" event (through City of Eugene Fire & EMS Dept.) that will be happening from 10am-4pm on June 23rd, 2007 @ Alton Baker Park. In the past, it used to be mostly about water, but it is now about so much more. 8000 people wandered through the event last year. He made a motion to have LUCC donate $500 and asked if LUCC would like to set up a booth (like at the homeshow) @ the event. Setting up the booth would cost nothing. A motion was passed to donate $500 to the event.
